 Action to Defend Palestine in Semarang, Mass Holds Israeli

Semarang - Crowds in Semarang held an action to defend Palestine, which is currently at war with Israel. The crowd demonstrating in front of the Central Java DPRD Building held Israeli flags on the street.Monitoring detikJateng Friday (20/10/2023) at Two WIB, a number of people were seen giving speeches in front of the Central Java DPRD Building, Jalan Pahlawan, Semarang. They appeared to be carrying Palestinian flags.

Even so, the road remains partially open so that motorists heading towards Simpang Lima can still pass. However, an Israeli flag was placed on the road which was automatically crushed by passing motorists.The coordinator of the action, Suroto, said that the flag was not part of the action setting."No, it was an initiative of the action participants, so it was not on the agenda, perhaps because they were disappointed with Israel," he said at the location.Suroto said the action was a form of calling for Palestinians who were grieving. They also invited other residents of Semarng City to care about Palestinians.

"This action invites the people of Semarang City to care for their brothers and sisters in Palestine who have experienced military aggression, thousands of people have died and tens of thousands have been injured. Of course, this action is a form of the community's call that colonialism on the face of the earth must be abolished according to the mandate of our law. ," he explained.

He said there were around Three hundred people registered for the action. They are a combination of taklim councils and student activists such as FSLDK Semarang, Kammi Semarang, Aksi Insan Mulia, and Ikadi.

"The target for this action is to give a voice to the world that means Palestine should stop war crimes and bring them to justice, when there is colonialism, of course something that tarnishes human civilization, the victims of thousands of lives must defend an independent Palestine that has been colonized for Sixty-five years," he added.Not only giving speeches, they also performed religious prayers and raised funds for humanity in Palestine.
